Porcelain Veneers Offer a Permanent Solution
Fix several different problems with versatile dental veneers
Porcelain veneers, also called tooth veneers or dental veneers more generally, can be an excellent option for a number of cosmetic dental problems. The veneers we use are wafer-thin laminates of tooth-colored porcelain that are bonded to the front of your teeth. Patients are pleased with the stunning and immediate results.
Since veneers are so versatile, they can be used to fix several different issues including:
- Damaged and chipped teeth due to trauma or tooth decay
- Worn teeth from grinding or an uneven bite
- Discolored teeth, especially if you aren’t a good candidate for teeth whitening
- Crooked teeth, which veneers can hide
- Gaps that make you dislike your smile
The enhancement to your smile is obvious as soon as the tooth veneers are installed.
A porcelain veneer may be applied to a single tooth or several in the aesthetic zone (as far back as the second bicuspids.) There are different types of veneers to use depending on your teeth issues. “No prep” and “minimal prep” veneers may involve little or no removal of existing tooth structure before veneers are installed.
Where there is considerable discoloration or very crooked teeth, we may suggest “full prep” veneers. In those cases, we remove a significant amount of existing tooth structure, surrounding it with porcelain. While final restorations are created at a local lab, you'll spend a few weeks in temporary plastic veneers. The personalized, permanent veneers are then bonded to your natural teeth.
No matter which method is selected, we use only the highest quality materials and best techniques to assure your comfort. Our dentists help determine the best type of veneer for your situation and make sure you are satisfied with the results.
The advantages of porcelain veneers include:
- minimally invasive procedure to install
- painless experience
- quick process - usually just two office visits to complete
- no continuing treatments
- beautiful and natural looking results
With proper care, your new veneers will greatly improve your appearance and confidence for years. You can see why porcelain veneers are so popular with patients!
