We simply take an impression for a “no prep” veneer, then fit it over the existing tooth without changing its shape – no grinding required.
A “minimum prep” veneer calls for taking a very small amount of enamel off the lip side of the tooth to create a little margin, and making certain adjustments where the tooth may be uneven. Then we place the veneer directly over the tooth.
Where there is considerable discoloration or very crooked teeth, we may suggest “full prep” veneers. We remove a significant amount of existing tooth structure, surrounding it with porcelain. While final restorations are created at a local lab, you’ll spend a few weeks in temporary plastic veneers. The personalized, permanent veneers are then bonded to your natural teeth for an absolutely beautiful look.
Veneers, unlike traditional teeth whitening, do not require continuing treatments. They don’t need any special care to look terrific for life – just your usual good oral hygiene and regular dental cleanings and check-ups.
